Hey Weekenders. Sorry, I’ve been M.I.A. for a while now. Here’s the latest music I’ve been hooked to, and they’re brand new(well some of them)! And no, I won’t be posting Psy’s Gentlemen.
Daft Punk ft. Pharell :: Get Lucky
I’m officially addicted to the sounds I’m hearing here. It’s soundgasm and nostalgia all at the same time. Well I do have a thing for retro sounding audio bytes. Anyway, I’m glad Daft Punk is doing something and bringing music back to life. The trash we hear on the radio now are just too bubblegum pop for my taste, and they’re simply not unique anymore. Just old, recycled audio and then call it new and original. Phooee…
Nonstop to Rudimental ft. John Newman :: Feel the Love
Okay, this has to do with work. ‘But you don’t listen to dubstep!’ Why it’s in my list for songs of the week(end), well, beside it being tied to my current project right now, it’s actually quite catchy, with lots of progressive beats and hello~ there’s a saxophone playing in the background. What’s not to love? Plus, the dance by Nonstop is amazing, and I just wanna bring that up too. It’s a fun song for the weekend and it’s not vulgar/obscene in any sense.
Girls Aloud :: Beautiful ‘Cause You Love Me
Okay, this entry is a little late. It should have been here weeks ago. But I’m still loving it anyway, so here it is. It’s a slow ballad, but I love the message in it. The ladies in the video aren’t too bad on the eye either so there you go. One of my favourite ballads by Girls Aloud, period. Too bad they’ve disbanded.
Drake ft James Fauntleroy :: Say My Name
Okay, I have to warn you. This song is EXTREMELY CHILL…… So unless you drank too much redbull and you’re now running around town giving out free hugs, I suggest you to listen to this track. It gives you chillaxing vibes and it’s really good especially when you’re cruising in the car around town, during the weekend. As a cover song, it’s a plus, because you can sing along to the lyrics, albeit you may simply mumble along to the chorus, but you get my drift.
Other songs worth mentioning: Calvin Harris ft Ellie Goulding and Macklemore (There’s too many. Maybe I might do a post just listing Macklemore). Happy weekend!
Good day all,
It’s been a while, yes I know. But just recently there was an event that caused me to convulse on the spot where my brain exploded internally and somehow oh-so-magically mended everything back to normal few days later. I still have not overcome the trauma. But things are back to normal again
but not for long, so I’m just gonna update a little something that I found on the web.
QR codes are quite all the rage in Japan as I know, but still have yet made it big here in Brunei. Perhaps it’s because part of the population here still uses old nokia phones or there are those who don’t even know what a qr code let alone know how to use it. It’s no different from a website or facebook link,
another yawn/gimmick, but this advertisement made me realize that, all is not lost. We can still be creative with QR codes.
Take the above for example. Tattoo artists are precise and very skillful when it comes to drawing or writing, and what better way to prove that you are the right person for the job than to ink a qr code!
“New tattoo artists wanted. To apply, fill in the QR code carefully.”

Kudos to the creative team of BÜRO. I could only wish that I have thought of that idea. Oh well….have a happy Tuesday y’all. Don’t let your brain explode in the middle of an important function. You just might not be able to recover after that.
Hola, it’s the weekend again, and I have to say, I’m feeling pretty happy-go-lucky lately.
My mood swings are weird. Anyway, in conjunction of the Sigur Rós concert live today in Fort Canning, Singapore, I will be including them onto the list because they are that awesome! (And also because my best friend D is heading there so I’m jealous and I’ll have to make do with youtube for now).
Sigur Rós :: Valtari [nsfw]
Here’s a music video/experimental short film written and directed by Christian Larson, of the band performing Valtari feat. Ekki múkk (one of my all-time favourites), Valtari, Rembihnútur and Varúð. This music video is…..I’m actually lost for words on this one. Beautiful video, fantastic choreography, and to top it off, divine music for your ears. D YOU ARE SO LUCKY
I HATE U!
Unknown Artist :: Emphazed
Okay, here’s a new one, and rumour has it, this could be a leaked song by Daft Punk! Yes, the legendary electronic robot duo themselves. I haven’t heard anything since Tron: Legacy, so fingers crossed they haven’t left the house biz like the tearjerking disbanding of Swedish House Mafia (I’m still mourning over that) and are actually working on a new album. The public’s reaction are still pretty mixed, with some doubting the legitimacy of this song, but either way, I still like this one. So kudos to whoever mixed this.
Kanye West x Jay Z x Big Sean :: Clique [explicit]
Okay, what would the weekend be without head bopping gangsta rapping music? Uhm…still a weekend I guess. Some people may not like Kanye for his douchey personality but each of his tunes always gets me excited and I can safely say that I love most of his music. It’s like each song that comes out with Kanye’s name on it, I’m bound to love it, and I’m not even being biased. Anyway enjoy this jam, and I found that the dancers in this video are just awesome! I think it’s a good song for Relentless Ent to dance to too. Any chance that’ll happen?
Swedish House Mafia :: Don’t You Worry Child
Okay, I’m just including this song just for kicks. It’s a really good song(as well as their whole album), and I know there will never be a chance for me to catch them live. T_T If Coldplay were to go on hiatus, I’m going to cry! But anyway, it’s the weekend, so add this to your weekend playlist! If you never heard of this song before, you’re welcome.
Ready for the weekend yet?
How many dumb ways can you think of to die? If you’re feeling suicidal, you’d probably want to stay clear of this post (and get professional help!), ’cause the list here are too
painful funny to watch and you may just want to change your mind. Sydney musician and keyboardist of The Cat Empire Ollie McGill have come up with something super cute and catchy for Melbourne Metro trains’ PSA safety campaign using mildly sardonic humour to convey the dangers of doing dumb things around trains, say crossing the tracks with an oncoming train heading your direction. LoL!
To get the point across, he used cute, colourful characters doing really dumb things, and how it encourages you to…well…
use common sense be safe especially around trains. Well it worked, and now the video has gone viral with 9 million hits and counting! The song is even available on iTunes and it has a tumblr account for those crazy self-induced deaths gifs. Listen to the video below and you’ll find yourself humming to it too! Doesn’t it just remind you of those cute crazy critters who always find themselves in harm’s way?
Remember! Always be safe than sorry! I’m out!
Hana Pesut is a Canadian photographer and she captures “little moments” that people sometimes miss and later wish they captured(as quoted on her site), and this little project that’s ongoing is no different. Actually it’s pretty hilarious. It’s called Switcheroo; and couples have to swap their outfits for a photo-taking moment, so they’ll see how they very much resemble their partner. Before and After pics included. LOL! Scroll below to see some of my favourite couples.
To view more or follow the latest, jump to her tumblr and start laughing. Now don’t you just want to swap your outfit and make a fool of you and your partner and remember it always in a photograph?
I think it’s time I jumpstart Videos of the Week(end), but this time with a musical twist. I’ll include music I’ve been listening to or think you should listen to (Yes, you!) in the mix. Let’s go!
Ed Sheeran :: Give Me Love
I’m obsessed with this song!!! I think Ed Sheeran is uber talented, and he should continue doing what he’s doing ’cause his music is a refreshing slap to the ears from all the pop music
garbage you’ve been hearing on the radio lately. This is what you call talent, Hollywood!
Ra Ra Riot :: Beta Love
Here’s a new one from Ra Ra Riot, and if you love M83, Vampire Weekend, and the likes, you will love them. Not many people here know of good indie tunes in Brunei so whenever I come across one, it’ll be like coming across a free parking space in a packed parking lot or getting a good seat to a really good movie screening.
Youngblood Hawke :: We Come Running
Honestly I never heard of Youngblood Hawke until I listened to the one remixed by RAC (one of my favourite remixers). And it made me curious about the original. And there’s something about this band that I can’t put my finger on. It’s youthful that’s for sure, but I think I just simply like singing this line “ooh whooa ooh whooa uh oh”. LoL!
Now if I hear anything awesome, I’ll continue posting more links or videos here. Till then.
LoL! This graffiti (if you would call it) work makes me laugh! Mobster is up to no-good again, and I’m guessing the authorities aren’t very happy with his antics. It’s not his latest work, but this is still a load of funny and I love how he does things so subtly but speaks volume to the public with just a few words. Scroll below to see what I mean.
Speaking of shades of grey, have you read 50 shades of Grey?
OMG CHRISTIAN GREY IS SO YUM@#%^&*IMOBSESSEDWITHHIM%^&#$%#MY! <—It’s bound to happen. I just had to include it here in this post somewhere. 😛
