Evolution Door

Brilliant door design! Some might question, what’s the point in designing something as mundane as a door? Doors have come a long way in terms of functionality (we have the sliding doors, the knob door, etc), but nothing as innovative nor aesthetically pleasing as this!

Could this be the new revolutionary doors of our future?

Designed and crafted by Klemens Torggler, Vienna-based Austrian designer, it’s called the Evolution Door. This is definitely intriguing to watch as the ‘door’ splits into half and then rotate to the side, revealing the opening of the door; or vice versa.

Imagine if this design were mass manufactured, and costs can be reduced (based on its materials and practicality), what more creatively implemented for other products like cars, appliances like washing machine or refrigerator. This could be a game changer, albeit still being in its prototype stage. What do you think?
