And the credit goes to…

Hi again,

What have I been up to recently? Well, working as usual. But I’ve also volunteered to help out my church’s youth group, in designing and helping out whenever I can. It’s been a fun experience so far, and enjoyed all the youth talks, and mingling with the kiddies. One day, one of the leaders asked me to design a poster where the theme is ‘Who is God?’, with subtexts, explaining God is Light, God is Love, and so on. I think she mentioned about doing 4 different posters to represent each answer, but since I have bad memory, I combined them all into one big poster. I hope she doesn’t mind!

Final work

I have been using this design style for a while and I really like the whole plan-top view look. If you must know how I do it, then I might do a tutorial when I get the chance. But for now, let me credit the designer who gave out these freebies you see above. 🙂

1. This is the original design where I changed the text from 'Who is Jesus?' to 'Who is God?'

Created by Michael Polzella. Just click the picture to direct you to the download link. 🙂

I wanted to use Hillsong United or Planetshakers albums to represent CD cases, but I spotted this image and thought, hey maybe I could use this as a ‘postcard’. And as I placed this onto the ‘table’ I realized, Hmm, it looks good just as it is. And I felt strongly that I should credit the designer, so there you go! 🙂

I found this in CreativeMYK which is a super fantastic site where you can download free Christian graphics shared by artists around the world for free! You can also receive criticisms or go through discussion here, not to mention the inspiration gallery. So do check out the site and bookmark it! 😀

2. I'm a sucker for vectors, and I found these for free! Lucky me!

I love using vectors, I can’t seem to do without em. That’s why most of my designs have vectors that I found from the net, mainly for free! Bittbox is one of the sites I’ve bookmarked, and they have awesome textures, brushes, vectors, tutorials and even interviews with awesome artists from across the world! Do visit the site to see what I mean.

3. I found this sweet wooden texture on Abduzeedo!

I found this free texture through Abduzeedo, which led me to the original artist in Beyond-OdditiesDeviantart for a free download. Abduzeedo‘s another one of my favourite. It’s a super top notched site that is updated daily, and read all around the world. The tutorials and freebies, not to mention daily inspiration, there are beyond words and this is a must-bookmark for designers (imo).

3. Google, my best friend on the internet.

The rest of the objects you see are from Google. What a fantastic search engine that Google. Enough said! 😛

Anyway, that’s about it for today. Will update some artworks I did at work, mainly about cars cause I work in a car company. Take care and have a nice day. 🙂
